Gail Woodall Obituary

July 26, 1936 - September 24, 2025

Gail Marsha Woodall passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Gail lived a full life marked by service, achievement, creativity, and deep devotion to her family and community.

Gail graduated from the Columbia University School of Nursing in 1959, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Just a few years later, she answered a call to serve abroad with the United States Peace Corps, dedicating herself to the people of Malaysia from 1962-1964.

This experience reflected her lifelong commitment to helping others and left an indelible mark on her outlook and values.

Following her Peace Corps service, Gail built her career in Maryland as both a nurse and teacher. She worked with Macqueen Gibbs Willis School of Nursing in Easton and later with the University of Maryland's RN to BSN program. Later on she ran her own business, Transitions, and became a published author. She was also a dedicated member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Easton since 1984.

At home, Gail's greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her children Shane Wells, Christopher Wells, and Karen Campbell, her grandsons Joshua Wells and Benjamin Wells; and three great-grandchildren. She was stepmother to Vicki Stockard and Gayle Woodall, and step-grandmother to Pamela Stockard.

Gail was predeceased by her husband, Robert Woodall, who passed away in 2007.

Known as "GG" to her great-grandchildren, Gail cherished summers at Rehoboth Beach, cozy visits filled with laughter, and simply being surrounded by those she loved.

She enjoyed knitting, the arts, and even taught herself to play the ukulele. She was especially proud of being a two-time champion in her grandson's March Madness league, outsmarting her grandsons and all their friends and loved cheering for Maryland basketball.

Gail was also deeply engaged in her community. In her later years at Londonderry, she was always surrounded by friends and remained active, vibrant, and socially connected.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 2pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Easton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gail's name to:

Gail was a sweet, kind lady and an excellent nursing class instructor. I always enjoyed her classes. She was always well prepared for class and went out of her way to be certain that her lesson was understood by everyone. She was a lovely person.
