It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Garret Layne Praiswater, who left this world on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, at the age of 27. Garret was born on Tuesday, April 14th, 1998, in Biloxi, Mississippi, and resided in Maryville, Missouri, at the time of his passing.
Garret was a dedicated prison guard, serving the State of Missouri Corrections in Maryville for four years. Outside of his professional life, Garret was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting and fishing, passions he shared with family and friends.
Garret is survived by his wife, Patience Praiswater, and their cherished children, sons Joseph Praiswater and Joseph Retland, and daughter Adeline Praiswater, all of whom reside at the family home. He is also survived by his father, Mitchell Wayne Praiswater of King City, MO, and his mother, Kristen L. Praiswater of Gulfport, MS. Garret leaves behind his brother, Logan Praiswater, and sister, Olivia Jonstone, both of Gulfport, MS.
Garret's life was a testament to the love and dedication he had for his family and his work. His presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Arrangements for Garret Layne Praiswater have been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home. Garret has been cremated and his family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Garret's memory to a charity of your choice.
