Garrett Ware, affectionately known as "Cake Man". son of the late Columbus and Ella Davis-Ware, was born June 27. 1954, in Trenton. New Jersey. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 11. 2025. at Capital Health. Fuld Campus. Gary was the baby boy of nine children. He was reared in Trenton, and he attended public school. He was a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church. He was employed at Mercer Hospital, Maintenance Department, for several years. He later worked at Kleersight Plastics in Trenton. He was a painter and often took on odd jobs. He enjoyed singing and playing in the band with his older brothers. He wiII be remembered by his family and friends as cool and calm and fun to be around. He will be remembered for his powerful voice with such a captivating delivery. He sang those songs that would really help you reach Jesus! If you were to meet him, you would be sure to get a glimpse of his infectious smile and maybe even a Tastykake!
He was preceded in death by five brothers, John Engram, Jr. Clennon Ware, John Davis, Albert and Jimmie Ware.
He leaves lo cherish his memory, three sons. Brian Stokes, Toshawn Upshur, both of Trenton. and Garrell N. Ware of North Carolina. One daughter. Zyerra M. Capenter of North Carolina. One brother David Ware, Sr. (Sandra) Two sisters: Beulah Davis or Trenton, and Lillian Ware-Copeland of Brown Mills, New Jersey. Three sisters-in laws: Sandra Ware of Sicklerville. New Jersey, Lourine Ware of Burlington, and Nita Ware of Trenton, New Jersey. Eight grandchildren, lmani, lvyon, and Brian Perry-Stokes, Shawnera Johnson and Tiara Upshur. all of Trenton. Garrell N. Ware, 3rd, Brooklyn I. Ware. Kirstyn J. Ware of North Carolina. Two great-grands, Paislee Perry of Trenton and Joshua A. E. Ware of North Carolina. A I lost or nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. One very special friend, Rosella Brown.
Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 150 N. Clinton Ave., Trenton, NJ 08609. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
