The Obituary for Garry Orina Del Socorro

Garry Orina Del Socorro, loving Son, big hearted Kuya (Big Brother), loveable Uncle Garry, Best Friend and Husband, joined our Loving Creator on December 27, 2025.

Affectionately called Sweetheart by Mama Celia, Garry, also known as Kuya to his siblings Arvin, Mark and Irene, has always put Family as a top priority. He would always go the extra mile to make sure that everyone is doing well and very happy.

Uncle Garry is probably the most loved Uncle you will ever meet. There is nothing in the world that he wouldn't do for his loving nieces Mayalani, Kianalyn, Kailani, Jazilyn, Elle and Petra. Even his husband's nephews and nieces gravitate toward his warm and loving demeanor. He's just loveable Uncle Garry to all.

Garry and Ernie met in their freshman year at Saint Anthony School. Ernie often jokes that he's the Monica Geller to Garry's Chandler Bing from Friends. Just like those characters, romance blossomed out of that friendship in 2014. They got married in November of 2018.

Garry was born in Manila, Philippines on March 15, 1971, to Manuel C. Del Socorro and Celia O. Del Socorro. He studied at St. Anne's Academy and Saint Anthony School also in Manila. He graduated from Heald College here in California.

He first worked at McDonalds as a Crew Member and worked his way to become a Store Manager where he met wonderful lifelong friends whom he warmly refers to as Family.

His Family from Hertz, Radvault and Robert Half International fondly calls him Gare Bear. They always describe him as a very smart, hardworking, loveable and all-around wonderful guy who is always there to lend a helping hand whether it's about work or one of their fun-filled potlucks. Garry is a fantastic cook.

Garry is known for his kindness and big heart whether it's at home, at work or even on the street. When he sees a person in need, he is always there to lend a helping hand. His lifelong friends often point this out as his most endearing character trait.

The best way possible for us to remember and honor Garry is very simple – and that would be to show love and kindness to everyone you meet in this roller coaster journey called life.

Heaven has another Angel! I had the pleasure of working alongside Garry at Robert Half, he was always there for a hug when needed, he just knew it. Rest well Garry! My sincere condolences to the family as he is sorely missed here as well.

I had the distinct pleasure of working with Garry at Robert Half for 7 years. I knew very little of his extended family other than his nieces who when we chatted we called the "precious ones".

After now spending the past two days with his extended family and friends, I can more appreciate what contributed to him being the exceptional individual he became. He gave so much to so many not only in his full rich life but also in his passing being an organ donor.

To his husband, mother, sister, brothers, nieces and extended family, my father always told me that I could learn something from everyone I meet and with Garry, I learned so much.
