Garry A. Smith, 84, husband of the late Patricia A. "Pat" (Winans) Smith of Milan, PA passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Born in Lock Haven, PA on April 28, 1941 he was the son of the late Jack and Ruby (Bressler) Smith.

He was a 1959 graduate of the former Sugar Valley High School, Loganton, PA.

Pat and Garry were wed on April 16, 1962 and shared over 63 years of marriage together when she passed away on July 3, 2025.

Garry was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Greenburr PA and the Leona Open Arms Ministry of Leona, PA.

He was a former volunteer firefighter with the Sugar Valley Volunteer Fire Co., Loganton, PA and for many years was a Boy Scout Leader with Troop #77 receiving the Silver Beaver Award and also served on the Eagle Scout Review Board. He enjoyed photography and sharing photos with family and friends.

Garry was a machinist by trade and was formerly employed by several companies, including Ingersoll Rand of Athens, PA, Cerro Copper and Brass of Bellefonte, PA and Brubaker Tool of Millersburg, PA.

He is survived by three sons, Scott Smith (Michelle) of Sayre, PA, Carl E. Smith of Wonder Lake, IL, and Lance W. Smith (Veronica) of Loganton, a daughter Laura Williams (Mark) of Lamar, PA, a sister Darla Lamey (Frank) of Loganton, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a son Donald W. Smith.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 95 East Main St., Loganton, PA with Rev. Brenda Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 6-8 PM. Private Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Loganton, PA. If desired memorials ay be made in Garry's name to the Sugar Valley Rural Charter School Foundation, 236 E. Main St., Loganton, PA 17747 or to the Trinity United Methodist Church (Greenburr), % Dan McCormack, 1186 W. Winter Rd., Loganton, PA 17747.
