Garry A Thornell, 43, Gas City, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Friday, November 12, 1982, to Garland "Garry" and Barbara (Michel) Thornell. On December 14, 2018, he married Jessica Hatton, and she survives.
Garry attended Marion High School. He was a car enthusiast and mechanic most of his life. He owned and operated GT Auto Repair LLC since 2022.
Survivors include his wife, Jessica Thornell; son, Thomas Czeck; daughter, Jazzlynn Thornell; and mother, Barb Thornell.
He was preceded in death by his father, Garland "Garry" Lee Thornell; grandparents, Clyde and Geneva Thornell, Lyle Michel and Jean (Michel) Mullen, and Richard Mullen.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Garry's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025, with one hour visitation prior to the service starting at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given in lieu of flowers to the Marion PAL Club 555 E. Morton St., Marion, IN 46952 or to the family to assist with expenses.
The family would like to encourage friends and family who attend to dress casually and comfortably as Garry was always dressed for riding or working on vehicles.
