Garry Dewayne Wesson,72, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away early Friday morning, December 12, 2025 at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
Garry was born August 7, 1953, to Billy Gene Wesson and Patricia (Atkins) Wesson in Coffeyville, Kansas. He lived in Pawhuska, Oklahoma and later in Arizona, before his family moved back to Pawhuska, where Garry graduated from high school. Garry attained an associate’s degree from what is now Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Twyla Cox, 52 years ago, July 7, 1973, in Bartlesville. The couple lived in a few other communities, before returning to the Bartlesville area 45 years ago.
Garry had worked in automotive body repair and as a finish carpenter, before becoming maintenance supervisor at Tri-County Tech in Bartlesville. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, whether it was riding, racing or restoring. Garry was a member of the AHRMA (American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association). He was also a hot rod enthusiast and was especially proud of his T-Bird. Garry also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Twyla, of the home; one son, Drew Wesson of Bartlesville and one brother, Terry Wesson of Nowata, Oklahoma. Garry was preceded in death by his parents; by a daughter, Kelly Wesson and by a brother, Bill Wesson.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, December 16, 2025 in the Chapel of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Hewitt of reNew Church in Dewey, officiating. Interment will follow in Bartlesville Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
