Gary Adams

Gary Adams, age 82 of Winnebago passed away peacefully Monday March 2, 2026 at Parker Oaks in Winnebago.

Gerald Dennis Adams was born April 18, 1943 to Duane and Isabell (Yarnell) Adams at Ft. Monroe Army Base in Hampton, Virginia. He was one of seven children. The family later moved to Blue Earth where he graduated from high school.

On October 24, 1964 he would marry his high school sweetheart, best friend and lifelong partner, Ardis Haase, who he won over with his yellow 1958 Ford convertible. The couple was blessed with their son Scott. In 1993 they moved to Winnebago, where they would retire and call home. Gary worked for several trucking companies in the area throughout the years and also was a funeral assistant at Spencer-Owen for many years. When he wasn’t working, you were sure to find him at the races. He attended almost every race that was held at the Fairmont Raceway and would also travel to other tracks to support his son and grandson when they were racing as well as the local guys. Always the jokester, his laugh and smile were infectious and will be dearly missed.

Gary is survived by his son Scott and grandson Brody. His sisters Sarah, Pam and Sandy as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ardis and brothers Dennis, James and Kevin.

A private family burial will take place at a later date.
