Mr. Atnip was born on August 15, 1946 and passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Mr. Atnip was a resident of Brookport, Illinois at the time of his passing. He was formerly from Danville, Indiana. He was married to Bonnie. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday February 7 2016 in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Metropolis IL with Rev. Shalom Renner officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday February 7 at the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis. There will be no funeral; graveside services will immediately follow. Expressions of sympathy may be given in the form of donations to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund 100 E. 5th St. Metropolis IL 62960.

So sorry Bonnie. Heather was in hospital with appendicitis and I could not leave. I rode with Gary for two weeks when I first started at Carbide/Praxair. I always had great respect for Gary, and am sorry he is gone. Keep looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. God Bless!
