Gary R. Bahr, 70, of Mentor, passed away Feb. 5, 2025, at U.H. Lake West Hospital in Willoughby.
Born May 10, 1954, in Portsmouth, Va., Gary had lived in Chesterland and Willowick before moving to Mentor 15 years ago.
Gary put his family above everything in life. He loved to golf and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He loved his fish, his birds and especially his dog, Roger, but one thing Gary never loved was losing his keys!
He was the loving father of Jeffrey Bahr and Marissa Bahr; cherished grandfather of Xavier Bahr, Peyton Bahr and Jackson Ashley; step-father of John Choate, David Choate, Dawn Choate and Amanda Ashley; brother of Raymond (Lauren) Bahr, Steven (Maria) Bahr, John (Tia) Bahr and Lynn Kennedy; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond A. and Janice (nee Machnicki) Bahr Sr.; and siblings, Beverly (nee Bahr) Zuchelli, Patricia Bahr, Mary Bahr and Thomas J. Bahr.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:30 p.m.

To Ray, John, Steve and Lynn,
To lose a family member is hard enough, but to lose 2 in the same week is
unfathomable. Rest in in God's peace Gary and Tommy.
