Gary Arthur Barney
September 13, 1935 – August 2, 2024
Gary passed peacefully surrounded by family on Aug. 2, 2024. He was born September 13, 1935 in Mt. Emmons, Duchesne UT. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gary served in the United States Army. Gary married Rae Barney on July 2, 1979.
He was an incredible man, with many talents, he loved flying and family and dedicated himself to those things he held close to his heart. He was always true to his beliefs and morals, and did his best to always help those around him. His humor and optimism always ensured he stood out amongst the crowd. He will be missed dearly.
Gary is survived by his children; Hollie Barney (Caleb Thomas), Lisa (Phil) Jackson, Angel (Brandon) Sparger, G.K Clark (Jamie Wood), 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and siblings Douglas Barney, and Darlene Foster.
He is preceded in death by his dear Wife Rae Barney, parents, Leslie and Edna Barney, three brothers, Shirley Barney, Everett Barney, and Neil Barney, two sisters, Reva McCoy and Bessie King and one son, Cody Clark, as well as his stepchildren Casey Owens and Marla Clark.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10 AM at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, with viewings held Friday, August 9th from 6-8 PM and 1 hour prior to service all at the Mortuary. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with Military Honors by the American Legion.
