Gary Blacksten Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Chapel at Boucher Funeral Home, LLC on Sep. 24, 2024.
Gary Mitchell Blacksten, 72. Loving husband of Nancy Louise Blacksten (Derolf). Brother to Richard Blacksten (Paula), Half-brother to Joyce Golden. Father to Dawn Moore (George) and Brian Blacksten. Grandfather to Nathan Moore, Tabitha Moore, and Anna Blacksten, Predeceased by Tiffany Moore. Great-grandfather to Isaac, Gabriel, Helena, Jamie, Sunny, and Jacob Moore, Natalie and Danica Moore, and Haley Patterson.
Gary was born on October 6, 1951, in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. He moved with his family to Glassboro, NJ when he was 9 and graduated from Glassboro High School in 1969. He spent most of his career as a terminal dispatcher, later terminal manager, at Chemical Leaman Tank Lines/Quality Carriers.
He loved to travel, making trips to Alaska, Sedona, Arizona, Camden, Maine and historical sites in Williamsburg, Jamestown and Valley Forge. He also loved to fish, getting his line in the water whenever he could, though not always bringing it back with a fish. He loved learning about woodworking and acquiring antique woodworking tools. What he loved most was spending time with his beautiful wife and his grandkids and great-grandkids, who he adored and on whom he liked to impart his life's wisdom.
Services Private.
