April 19, 1952 – March 19, 2025
Gary Thomas Bondy, age 72 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Wellspring Lutheran Nursing Home.
Born April 19, 1952 in Monroe. Gary was the son of the late Fred and Mary Lou (Gentner) Bondy. Gary graduated from St. Mary Catholic Central in 1970. He continued his education at Monroe Community College to receive his associate's degree in accounting and business.
Gary met and married the love of his life: Diane Benore on November 24, 1973 at the Oak Grove Hall in Monroe. Together they enjoyed traveling, including trips to Tennessee. They raised a family of two children and spent over 51 wonderful years together.
Gary first worked at the Great Scott Grocery Store in Monroe for many years before they closed their doors. He was always a very hard worker. He then went to Wonder Bread until he retired in 2008.
In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf or card games. You could often find him watching NASCAR races or the Business Channel. He also went deer hunting and enjoyed any wild game dinners. Gary was a laid-back guy who will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
Beloved husband of Diane Bondy. Loving father of David Bondy and Emily Bondy. Dear brother of Kathleen (William) Gallaway, Richard Bondy, and Barbara (Steven) Latondress. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition his parents, Gary was preceded in death by sister-in-law: Kathleen Bondy.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 11 am. Officiating is Brother David Sutton of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Burial will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park.
