Gary Bowman, 69, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on December 18, 2025.
Gary was born on January 20, 1956, in Norton, Kansas, to Leroy Bowman and Donna L. Moore. He grew up in a loving home with his mother, stepfather, and four siblings. From a young age, Gary had a strong sense of adventure, which eventually led him to a long and fulfilling career in over-the-road trucking. He loved the big rigs and the travel that came with the job, and he proudly crossed many miles with his faithful companion, T.C., his beloved mini schnauzer. He enjoyed sharing stories from the road with anyone willing to listen.
Gary also had a deep love for the rodeo—especially bull riding—along with country music and wrestling. He was known to be a jokester, sometimes a little ornery, but always with a big heart. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand whenever he could. His presence, laughter, and warmth will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Bowman; his mother and stepfather, Donna and John Moore; and two brothers, Stephen Moore and Terry Moore (Wanda).
Survivors include his brother, Larry Elson (Tammy); his sister, Barb Miner (Steve); many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends. He is also survived by his closest and dearest friend, Joy Unruh.
