Gary M. Bramlette, 88, of
Pensacola, Florida entered the gates of Heaven to meet his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, March 23, 2025. Gary was recently preceded in death by his loving wife; Nancy Christine Bramlette, on August 28, 2024. Gary and Chris were blessed to enjoy over 66 years of marriage, they experienced much happiness. Gary was also preceded in death; by his parents, Varnell Bramlette and Irma Callaway Bramlette; and his sister, Jane Oberhausen.
Gary is survived by his two children, Dana Winkel and Craig Bramlette (Stella); grandchildren Monique Franciere (Jim), Heidi Bogacz (Richard), Clint Bramlette, and Jaclyn Zaia (Hunter); great-grandchildren, Matt and Jamy Franciere.
Gary was born on July 17, 1936 in Rome, Georgia. Gary mostly grew up in Pensacola, in his family home, on the Lagoon off of Gulf Beach Hwy. Gary had many fond memories of his time spent on the Lagoon; boating, sailing, skiing, swimming, crabbing and fishing with his family, friends and cousins. Gary attended Florida State University and served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He experienced a variety of careers; working as a lineman for Gulf Power, a truck driver for Borden's Dairy, a furniture salesman, and a financial manager. He found his calling at Central Credit Union of Florida, where he served as President for 34 years, retiring in 2004. Gary served on the Board of Directors at Southeast Corporate Federal Credit Union, the Credit Union Executive Society, and various other boards before retirement.
Gary was lovingly called "Pops" by his children. In retirement he could often be found playing his favorite pastime; golf, at Marcus Pointe with his golfing buddies. Gary and Chris enjoyed their retirement together, often visiting their daughter in Virginia and their son in New Mexico, enjoying and exploring all that both of these regions of the United States offered.
Gary will be forever missed by his family. We will always remember the joyous times at the beach houses, that "Pops" and Mom rented for their family to enjoy during the summers. We will also miss celebrating many good times with them for various special occasions, at the Grand Marlin. Life will not be the same without Mom and "Pops."
The service will be held at the Chapel at Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home; on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at noon. The interment will be at Pensacola Memorial Gardens following the service.
The family wishes to thank all who cared for Gary at both Baptist Hospital and Pruitt Rehabilitation.
