Gary Vanardo Brown, 67, of Concord, VA, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024.
He was born on September 11, 1956, to the late Walter Brown and Florence Brown.
In addition to his parents Gary is preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Elliott, and Dexter Brown, one sister, Joyce Horsley and a nephew, Harold Parker, Jr.
Gary is survived by his wife, Frances Brown; children, Shernita Whirley, Gary Brown, Jr., Nicole Mayberry (Mark), Katilia Spriggs, Diandra Sparks (Anthony); two sisters, Joan Giles (Robert) of Lynchburg, Phyllis Parker (Harry) of Rustburg; 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
God saw you getting weary, so he did what was best, he came and stood beside you and whispered, “Come and Rest”. You left behind so many beautiful memories and so much happiness too. But we take comfort in knowing one day we are going to see you again… Family.
A memorial service to honor Gary will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
