It is with great sadness that the family of Gary Lee Bunday announce his passing on May 30, 2022 at the age of 74 in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents Bernice & Carl Bunday, sister Diane Gadbois, and grandson Grant Daley. Gary is survived by his wife Carol Heckert, daughter Lisa & John Daley Jr., son Gary M. & Charmy Bunday, and their mother Marie Bunday, sister Kathy & Jeff Holter, brother Mark & Mary Bunday, grandchildren Nicholas & Jaelyn Daley, Hannah Bunday, and Connor Bunday, and great-grandson due July of 2022, Zachary Grant Daley.
Gary lived a fulfilling life as a son, brother, father, grandfather, husband, and friend. He loved his family dearly and always made sure they were taken care of. His favorite hobby was getting out on the golf course, often playing two rounds a day. He also enjoyed good music and loved to sing. He also enjoyed playing cards and a game of pool with friends and family. And throughout the years he had many old classic corvettes that he really liked to drive down the road, listening to all the oldies music from the 50's & 60's. Gary also was so proud to have been a United States Marine. He loved his country. The fact he passed on Memorial Day seems so perfect for Gary to go home to be with our Lord.
He was born in Hillsdale, Michigan. Later moving to St. Paul, Minnesota with his parents. He grew up in St. Paul and in his mid 20's he and his wife Marie and children headed out west to San Diego, California where they raised their children. Gary continued his career in insurance in San Diego until he retired in 2000. He then decided to move to Arkansas where he was blessed to have met and married Carol Heckert. They both shared their love for the Lord together. Their life was full of love and fun times together as well as with good friends they had. Gary mentioned over the last couple of years of his life how truly blessed he was to have so many special people in his life. He truly passed with great peace in his heart.
