I used to see Gary every Saturday morning for years standing with his cane, waiting for the St. Matthew´s Episcopal Church in Horseheads thrift store to open. He had a great eye for beautiful items: jewelry, glass, toy horses, and would fill up his van with all his little treasures. He would set up on Monday mornings at the Athens flea market to sell the ones he was ready to part with. He used to always wear a sterling cross, a black t-shirt, and a hat. I used to enjoy hearing stories about the real Manx cat he had, with the bobtail that he loved. He was always looking for another, though I don't think he ever found one. He used to chat with Tasha and her mother at the counter, who are both gone now too. He will be missed.

Gary was the kindest neighbor and dearest friend to us. He was always there to lend a helping hand when we needed him and that´s something we will continue to hold with us forever. Truly a wonderful person. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
