Gary Clow

Gary Austin Clow, age 74, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away on January 23, 2023, at the Hospice of the EUP – Hospice House.
Gary was born on December 15, 1948, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to the late Clifford and Dorothy (Lounds) Clow. He was a graduate of Sault High School with the class of 1967. Gary worked for the Corps of Engineers, retiring in 2014 as Chief Lock Master after almost 43 years of service. On March 26, 1988, he married Carrie Cardinal at the First Free Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was often found building and working on his house. He grew a wonderful vegetable garden and then canned the harvest. He liked to bake, and he made great pie crusts. He attended the First Free Methodist Church.
Gary is survived by his wife: Carrie Clow; five children: Shawn Clow of Gilbert, AZ, Kevin (Bianca) Clow of Phelan, CA, Nikki (Cory) Molina of Chandler, AZ, Austin (Michaela) Clow of Marquette, MI, and Adam (Miranda) Clow of Ft. Myers, FL; eight grandchildren: Ian, Cassious, Jordan, Roscoe, Ammon, Colton, Bella, Adalynn; and one great-grandchild: Renee. Gary is also survived by his siblings: Delores LaJoye of Marquette, MI, Leo (Sharon) Clow of Midland, MI, Jay (Dee) Clow of Brimley, MI, Duane (Nancy) Clow of Hasting, MI, Ivan (Marcia) Clow of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Kareen (Bob) Brown of Dafter, MI, Nyle (Ruth) Clow of Sault Ste, Marie, MI, and Jerry Clow of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; and a sister-in-law: Linda Clow.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter-in-law: Rosa Clow; and three brothers; Ernest Clow, Roy Clow, and Wayne Clow.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the First Free Methodist Church. Friends may call at the church that same day starting at 3:00 PM. Burial will be later this spring at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Hospice of the EUP- Hospice House.
