Milwaukee, WI, to his loving parents, Wallace and Juanita Coger.
Gary dedicated his life to serving his country as a military policeman, proudly serving as a veteran. After his military service, he worked in the HUD Housing department, where he made a positive impact on many lives.
Gary received his education from high school and pursued some college education, always valuing the importance of learning and personal growth.
In his free time, Gary enjoyed indulging in sports and watching western television shows. These hobbies brought him joy and relaxation, allowing him to unwind from his busy schedule.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian Coger, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. He was a loving and devoted father to his children, James Slates and Victoria McAlpine. He also leaves behind his brother, Kenneth Coger, who shared many cherished memories with him.
Gary had a close bond with his extended family, including his brothers-in-law Kelly Wilson of
Decatur, IL, Joe Wilson of
Milwaukee, WI, and John Booker of Fort Wayne, IN. He also had a special relationship with his niece, Natasha Jackson.
Gary was a proud and cherished "PaPa" to his 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. His presence in their lives brought immense joy, and he will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Juanita Coger, his brother Warren Coger, and his sister Linda Coger. Their memories will be forever cherished.
