Gary Creasy Obituary

Gary Arnold Creasy, Sr., 72, of the 3500 block of Indian River Rd., Chesapeake, VA, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. He was born November 15, 1939 in Altavista, VA. He was the son of the late Otha Dennis Creasy and Addie Louise Mattox Creasy, and the widower of the late Frances M. Creasy. Gary retired from Creasy Electronics, Inc. as Warehouse Manager in 1998. His hobby in retirement, as it was his whole life, was restoring classic cars; he was also an avid pool player and gardener. He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 795, South Norfolk Moose Lodge #464, American Legion Post 204, and Sons of the Confederate Veterans Camp 1993. Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Gary A. Creasy, Jr. and wife Carol of South Mills, NC; four grandchildren, Todd Perry, Kelsey Creasy, Cole Creasy, Corey Creasy; two sisters, Sandra C. Carraway of Chesapeake, VA and Sharon C. Lauterbach and husband Bill of Virginia Beach, VA; five brothers, Dennis G. Creasy of Gloucester, VA, James C. Creasy and wife Ruth of Advance, NC, Fonda R. Creasy and wife Sue of South Mills, NC, Barry L. Creasy and G. Shawn Creasy of Virginia Beach, VA; three uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, Richard D. Creasy, Sr. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, 6 to 8 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
