Rev. Gary Crowder

Rev. Gary Crowder, 78, of Springfield passed away Friday, June 27, 2025 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. He was born November 8, 1946 in Louisiana, MO the son of Floyd and Eva Gray Crowder. He married Linda Hill on November 24, 1965 in Pleasant Hill and she survives.
He is also survived by his sons, Tony (Laura) Crowder of Jacksonville and Trent (Jennifer) Crowder of Springfield; 12 grandchildren, Zachary Crowder, Austin (Ashley) Crowder, Matthew Crowder, Joshua Crowder, Beau (Abi) Crowder, Brooke (Kyle) Moran, Brennan Crowder, Benjamin Crowder, Brahm Crowder, Baylin Crowder, Bryce Crowder and Beckham Crowder and three great-grandchildren, Knox Crowder, Hazel Moran and Eden Moran.
Rev. Crowder graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1965. He received a Bachelor of Biblical Studies and a Master of Theology from Biblical Life College and Seminary. He pastored several churches in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois and later served as a Chaplain at Springfield Memorial Hospital and St. John's Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Calvary Gospel Church in Summer Hill with burial at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. The family will meet friends from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the family. Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
