Gary could always be counted on to make me smile, or even chuckle, every time we talked. With his greeting, a wry comment at just the right moment, or his parting words as he continued on, he always managed to interject some light-heartedness regardless of whatever else might be going on.
That light-heartedness may make the heavy-heartedness the news of his passing caused much more intense; but he left us with many memories to lighten things up as we think about them again, and I'll still smile over the sadness, at least, thanks to him.
I'm truly sorry for your loss; my prayers are going out to all of those closer to him.
Cherish the memories he was here to bless you with, may he continue to make you smile as well, even if he isn't right there with you.

I was shocked and sadden to hear that Gary had passed away. Over the past few days I have been reflecting on the past 50+ years. So many wonderful Memories of Gary and the Dame Family.
I have known Gary my whole life. I am a close friend of the family.
I grew up with the Dame Family. Cindy, Paul (rest his soul), Gary, Connie, Debbie. Best Family Ever!!!
I remember the first time we met Linda and how excited we were for Gary and Linda as a couple.
Over 30 years ago now!
Gary was always very entertaining. Never a dull moment.
He was a great cook too! Gary had a great life with Linda and their children, Jacob, Sydney and Trevor.
My deepest Sympathy to the entire Dame family and extended family for the loss of your Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle
I will be thinking and praying for all of you during this difficult time.
Gary will be greatly missed by all
Prayers to Everyone

I met Gary in 1990; We worked together in body closures laughed every day and on Friday's we went to lunch. Gary had a constant sense of humor (a fellow (Sagittarian) . He was great person for advice. I always enjoyed his friendship.
We worked together in the beginning and together before he retired on Ranger at MI truck.
I remember taking my grandson Jake to a work picnic in Dearborn and his son Jacob playing together as toddler.Gary would take time for get together reunion lunches of the original guys in closures we would meet at Oakwood bar.

I met Gary for the first time when I arrived at the VO Body Shop Launch Trailer in Kansas City in 1999. I was a last minute addition to his launch team but he treated me like we'd been friends for a long time. From that initial meeting, Gary was one of my closest friends and confidants. My heart hurts deeply for Linda, Jacob, Trevor & Sydney. Gary was one of the sharpest minds that I've known & an even better friend. I know one day we'll meet again, until than I will keep the many wonderful memories close.

If the price of love is loss, those who love the greatest lose the most. Your loss is as tremendous as the love you grew your beautiful family with. Sydney's love for life and her family shines into the hearts of anyone who experiences her. She is a blessing to me every chance I have to see her. And I know that Gary will live on and bless the world through his family. For that dear Dame family, I am truly thankful. My heart breaks for your great loss. No words of mine will help you, but I pray my love and gratitude for your darling family will contribute to the outpouring of love that you are receiving in this time of suffering and that it will help you endure and heal. All my love and prayers, Ronda
