Gary Frederick Davis

Gary Frederick Davis, age 75, of Eudora, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. Born on April 19, 1948, Gary led a life marked by professionalism, generosity, humor, and an unshakeable commitment to justice.
He was a respected Detective Lieutenant with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, a decorated Special Agent and Polygraph Examiner at the KBI, and a freelance Polygrapher. Gary was a wealth of knowledge and a valuable mentor to generations of polygraph examiners. He generously performed pro bono tests to avert miscarriages of justice.
His professional affiliations and accomplishments include:
*Past President and Life Member of the National Polygraph Association
*Former Vice President of the American Polygraph Association
*Qualified as an expert witness in both State and Federal Courts
*A dedicated 40-year member of the American Association of Police Polygraph Examiners
*Charter Member and Past President of the Kansas Polygraph Association
*Trained as a Post Conviction Sex Offender Examiner
*Former Director and instructor at both the Academy of Polygraph Science and the Marston Polygraph Academy
Known as a consummate jokester, Gary was fond of the phrase "Don't bullshit a bullshitter." His generous, kind, honorable, and sometimes ornery nature made him a cherished figure to many who knew him.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Davis; daughters, Christine Panus and Jamie Davis-Watson; sister, Joyce Peckham; and five beloved grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
