Gary Eugene Day

Gary E. Day, 76, of Frankfort, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday morning, March 7, 2026. He was born in Chillicothe on Saturday, July 9, 1949, and was raised by his grandparents, Blenn and Josephine Johnson Day. 

He is survived by one son; Shayne Day of Frankfort, two daughters; Kristy Conway and Rachel Day, his grandchildren; Corey and Logan Davis and William and Boston Conway and several great grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his birth mother; Betty Dunn, one daughter; Shayna Day, his brothers; Bill Day, Ben, Rick and Jack Dunn and Dick Pierce, his sisters; Debbie Davis and Helen Houser.

Gary loved his family and enjoyed getting photos of them. He retired from the Chillicothe Veterans Hospital after more than 30 years of service. Gary enjoyed his trucks and standing on the porch looking out over the countryside.

 A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort, with his great nephew, Wesley Gallaugher officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at the convenience of his family in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort with Blenn and Josephine. Family and friends may start gathering at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m. the day of the service.
