Gary Lynn Deeter, age 63 of Medina, TN, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital. His funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at McEvoy Funeral Home with Tom Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at McEvoy Funeral Home from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 5th, and after 11:00 AM on Friday, March 6th prior to the service at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Farris, Chase Gulledge, David Bullion, Pedro Rodriguez, Ricky Yates, Kevin King, TJ Farris, and Jerry Williams.
Gary Lynn Deeter was born May 13, 1962, in Paris, TN, to the late Val Deeter and the late Charles and Lynda Lee. On September 3, 1988, he married Brenda Deeter, and she survives in Medina, TN.
Gary retired from Verizon after 25 years, and he retired from the Army National Guard after 20 years, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a ’68 Chevy Truck enthusiast, and he loved boating and camping.
In addition to his wife, Gary is also survived by his daughter, Ashley Lynn Deeter Cooper (Tyler) of Medina; sister, Debbie Andrews of Paris; Glenn “Train” Lee (Anna) of Paris; grandchild, Marley Blair Cooper, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides his parents, Gary was also preceded in death by a sister, Marquita Lee Carter.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, and/or Shriners Hospital for Children, PO Box 863765, Orlando, FL 32886.
