Gary died of a heart attack in his home on November 29, 2025

Gary Nicholas Digilormo was born on June 1, 1949, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Nick and Bonnie Rogers Digilormo. He was born the first of five siblings. Gary's school years in Shreveport included St. Joseph's Catholic School, Barret Elementary, Linwood Junior High and Fair Park High School.

His collegiate years in Natchitoches, Louisiana, at Northwestern State University included earning BS and MA degrees. College life was a very happy time in Gary's life as he made lifelong friends through his involvement in student government and ROTC, as well as being a college cheerleader and a member of Theta Chi fraternity.

He started work in the oil business in the 1980's. Later he became a counselor at what is now Louisiana Technical College. When his career path introduced him to the medical field when he joined the Work Care program initiated by the Willis Knighton Hospital System. He then moved to Baton Rouge where he helped to start up the Work Care program at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He had several crucial roles in the University of Colorado Medical Center. He returned to Shreveport and worked for Christus and Willis Knighton Health Systems.

He is survived by his husband Stephen Spellman, his former wife Debbie Digilormo, son Jason Digilormo, daughter Kate Campbell, daughter Grace Ravenwhite, grandson Ethan Mann and granddaughter Chloe Mann. Remaining siblings are Glenda Baker, Carl Digilormo, Roger Digilormo, and Pam Bird.

A celebration of life is planned at the Robinson Film center on January 17th, 2025.
