Gary Eastman

Pastor Gary Lee Eastman, 65, of Midland, passed away peacefully at his home early Thursday morning, May 15, 2025. Born on February 24, 1960, in Alma, he was the son of the late Fred and Lillian (Stephenson) Eastman and was raised in Midland. On June 6, 1998, he married the love of his life, Teresa Nobbs.
An ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International, Gary faithfully preached the gospel for over 42 years. He was the founding pastor of Calvary Apostolic Church in Midland, where he served with unwavering dedication for 34 years.
Gary loved God, his family, and the outdoors. In addition to his pastoral ministry, he also served the community as a school bus driver for Midland Public Schools for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Eastman of Midland; his children, Jonathon (Tiffany) Praay of Ringgold, GA, Marisa (Nathan) Burgett of Grand Rapids, Jeremy (Amanda) Eastman of Freeland, and Morgan Eastman of Midland; and his cherished grandchildren: Chase Praay, Kinsley Praay, Arian Burgett, Pearce Burgett, and Maverick Burgett. He is also survived by his siblings, Dianne Clark and Melanie Boice of Midland, Chuck (Peggy) Eastman of Midland, and Justin (Cindy) Eastman of Beaverton.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Foster, and sister, Nancy Randall.
A funeral service to honor Gary's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Bethel Ministries, 1492 W. Midland Rd., Auburn, MI 48611. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street, on Friday from 4-7 p.m., and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
