Gary Ellis Bear Runner was born on July 20, 2007 in Pine Ridge, SD to Gary Crooke Eyes, Jr. and Rosalyn Bear Runner. Gary made his journey to the Spirit World on September 2, 2024 in Pine Ridge, SD.
Gary aka "Bubbies", the Boy, Yamni, was the first born son of Sugar and Crooks. Loved by many he grew to be a sharing, caring, outgoing young man. He had heart for what he loved and believed in and wasn't afraid to face many obstacles. He was creative, athletic, daring and mischievous. He achieved whatever he put his mind to. A fun, loving, comical, intelligent, artistic person. He will be forever loved and cherished.
Gary is survived by his mother, Rosalyn "Sugar" Bear Runner; Maternal sisters, Julia, Justyn and Amiliani Bear Runner; maternal brothers, Carlo, Mason, Anthony and Landon Bear Runner and Robert Jumping Ealge, IV; paternal sisters, Evelyn, Rachel, Echo, Diamond and Toya Crooked Eyes; paternal brother, Michael Crooked Eyes; maternal grandparents, Debra Cuny and Ramon Bear Runner; maternal aunts, Leola, Apalonia, Deanna, Makoce & Stephanie Bear Runner and Billie Joe & Cynthia Clifford; maternal uncles, William "JR" Clifford, Ramon II, Justin, Jesse and Daniel Bear Runner; paternal aunt, Thelma Tail; uncles, Carl, Matthew and James Crooked Eyes; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his sister Shanel Bear Runner; father, Gary Crooked Eyes, Jr., paternal grandparents, Geraldine White Dress and Gary Crooked Eyes, Sr. and Marilyn Okini Crooked Eyes-Rodriguez; maternal aunt, Mariah "Miss" Bear Runner; and maternal great grandparents, Willard Cuny & Mersy Cuny, Grace Rock-Bear Runner and Oscar Bear Runner.
