Gary Robert Fredenhagen, age 73 of Boulder Junction, WI passed away on Thursday, September 4th at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI with his family by his side. Gary was born on November 6, 1951 in Naperville, IL the son of Walter Scott Fredenhagen II (Sue Gubitz), and Mary Alice Nesler (Bill). Gary is survived by his loving wife, Susan Lee Frisbie. Gary and Sue recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year on August 31st.
Gary worked as a Mason and was the former owner of the Boulder Beer Bar for 17 years. Was an active member and former Chief of the Boulder Junction Fire Department. Gary loved spending time with his family and friends, whether it be fishing, hunting, softball, pool league or just enjoying everything the Northwoods offered.
Gary is survived by his wife Susan and children Tracey (Aaron) Mancheski, Arien (Jen) Fredenhagen, Scotty (Tegan) Fredenhagen and preceded in death by son Cory Fredenhagen. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Alexander and Molly Mancheski; Curt and Levi Fredenhagen; Alexia, Quaid, and Brooks Fredenhagen; and by his siblings James (Victoria) Fredenhagen, Laura Jean (Dan) Schaeffer, Jane (Dale) Herron and Debbie (Bob) Zelhoffer and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Alice; his son Cory; his granddaughter Mesa; and two of his best fishing buddies John Reed and Ron Ulman.
Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, September 14th at 2:00 at the Boulder Junction Community Church with a visitation from 1:00 pm till time of service. Celebration of Life Reception that will follow at 3:00 at Aqualand Alehouse.
