Gary Glowacki
Gary Max Glowacki, age 85, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at his home in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
Gary was born on August 10, 1937, to Michael and Madolin (Kwaiser) Glowacki in Saginaw, MI. He graduated with the Saginaw High School Class of 1956. Gary earned both his bachelor's degree and master's degree in Education from Northern Michigan University. On August 15, 1964, he married Molly Jean Hillier in Marquette, MI.
Gary began his teaching career with the Marquette Area schools and taught Social Studies for the Sault Area High School for a combined 33 years. He coached a variety of sports for Sault High since arriving in 1966. He finished his coaching career as the Varsity football in 1984. Gary retired from teaching in 1993, and his hobbies included woodworking, and watching Westerns (his favorite was John Wayne). He was an avid reader, a Detroit Lions fan, and he enjoyed playing Cribbage. He also treasured time spent with his family and was especially proud of his boys.
Gary is survived by his wife, Molly; his three sons: Nelson "Skip" (Michelle) Glowacki of Toledo, OH; Michael Glowacki of Petoskey, MI; and Gary "Max" (Stacy) Glowacki of South Lyon, MI. Also surviving Gary are his five grandchildren: Molly (Matt) Harger, and Madolin, Grady, Ella, and Sam Glowacki.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Richard Glowacki.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home, with Rev. David Henderson as officiant. Friends should meet at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
