Gary Dennis Graves

Gary D. Graves of Vancouver, WA died at Peace Health Hospital on Friday October 24th 2025. He was born in Vancouver on 27th May 1949, to Robert & Doris Graves. He graduated from high school in Hood River, OR in 1967. He enlisted in the Air Force when his parents moved to Kansas. He served in Italy & England as an analyst in Security Service. He returned to the US in 1976 with his wife & son, Ben. They lived in KS, CO & WA. He worked in telecommunications, traveling all over the country, especially to two of his favorite places, Alaska & Colorado. After retiring, he volunteered with Meals On Wheels, Peace Health Hospice & DOGPAW. He loved fishing, gardening, golf, visiting Yellowstone & wineries in the Yakima valley. He also loved doing things with his family, especially his grandchildren, going to the beach & walking his beloved dog, Charlie. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Doris A. Graves, his wife of 54 years, Nicolette (Nikkii), his son Ben, (Mandi), daughter Lucy (Tasha), son Oliver (Lisa) & grandchildren Jack, Zoe & Liam. He was preceded in death by his father, his sisters, Gloria & Kathleen, & his two sons, Christopher & Timothy. A Memorial service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 Mt. Scott Blvd, Portland, OR 97086 on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 10: 00 AM, attendees should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the service. Afterwards the family will host a Celebration of Life from 11-3 at the City of Vancouver Water Resources Education Center, 4600 SE Columbia Way, Vancouver, WA 98661, upstairs room.
