Gary W. Grout, a great man who exemplified the virtues of love, kindness, and dedication, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, in Florence, Kentucky. Born on December 14, 1948, in Covington, Kentucky, Gary lived a life rich in family, friends, and cherished hobbies.
Gary will be remembered as a proud father and grandfather, a loving and devoted husband, and a steadfast friend to many. He had a huge heart, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. His warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.
With a passion for classic cars, Gary enjoyed attending car shows and was skilled in painting cars. These interests not only brought him joy but also brought together loved ones who shared in his enthusiasm.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Grout (nee Goebel); children, Greg Christian, Michael (Kayla) Grout, Sr., and Tracy Jones; grandchildren, Abree Lopez, Anneliese LaVon, Kyleigh Grout, Michael Grout, Jr., Braylon Grout, Curtis Morrison, Taylor Schnieders, Shannon Grout and Danielle Grout; great-grandchildren, Tobias Morrison and Baby Schneiders; and brothers, John Grout, Fred Grout, and Michael Grout. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind a host of other family members and friends who will carry his memory forward.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Grout, Sr. and Virginia Grout (nee Mullkin); children, Angela Grout, Gary Grout, Jr., Michelle Morrison; siblings, Harry Grout, Frank Grout, Melvin Grout, Jr., Laura Droganes and Ronald Grout.
As his family and friends reflect on his life, they find solace in the memories and love he left behind. Gary W. Grout’s legacy is one of devotion, compassion, and the enduring bonds of family. His spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, reminding all to embrace life with a generous heart.
