Gary Lee Hale, 65, of Waldo, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware with family by his side.
Gary was born in Richlands, Virginia on June 30, 1960, to the late Arnold Junior Hale and Marie (Burnette) Hale.
Gary graduated from Richlands High School in 1978. Gary worked multiple different jobs in his life, including driving coal trucks. After moving to Ohio, he attended trade school, then spent most of his career as a machinist. Gary worked for many companies and retired from Product Tooling in 2013.
Gary enjoyed playing Bluegrass music which he learned from his father. Bluegrass was a major passion for Gary, from informal jam sessions to playing in local bands to attending Bluegrass music festivals.
A lifelong servant of Christ, Gary was saved as a young teenager. He demonstrated his Faith through his actions, always ready to help others at a moment's notice. He was a creative, kind, and giving man. He will be forever missed.
In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his sister Donna Mullins and his brother Tommy Hale.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Besta Hale; daughter Elaine (Derek Miller) Hale; son Andrew Hale; sisters Carolyn Hale and Darlene (Robert) Shell; nieces Cassie (Shane) Pumphrey, Maggie (Quinton) Ferenbaugh, and Tori Hale; nephew Avery Davis; and great-nephews Tommy and Benny Pumphrey.
The family will receive friends at Snyder Rodman Funeral Center in Delaware, Ohio on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Snyder Rodman Funeral Center on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held afterwards at Marlborough Cemetery in Troy Township.
