Gary Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Herman-Taylor Funeral Home - Wisconsin Rapids on Dec. 3, 2022.
Gary L. Hall, 76, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI passed away on December 2nd, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Gary was born to Leonard and Lucy (Nowicki) Hall on September 8th, 1946, in Wausau, WI. He attended St. Anne's Parochial School and graduated from Newman High School in 1964 and North Central Technical College in 1966.
He entered the United States Army in October 1967 and proudly served his country until honorable discharge in September 1970.
Following his military service, he resumed his employment with Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company (NEPCO) in the Management Information & Systems department where he worked for 26 years. He was further employed with Consolidated Papers until his retirement in 2001.
While at NEPCO he met the love of his life, Karen M. Mielke. They were married on his birthday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids in 1973 and were blessed with 49 years of marriage.
Gary was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His family was the absolute center of his life.
He maintained a life-long passion for auto racing. He filled the basement with the model cars he built along with a huge library of literature and personal photographs that he enjoyed sharing with others. He was part of the Dick Trickle Memorial Project team in Rudolph, of which he was especially proud.
Gary was an avid Packers fan who wore his festive football gear on game days and loved the pre-game atmosphere at Kroll's in Green Bay. He held a strong appreciation for local history and contributed many of his photographs to the South Wood County Historical Society. He also loved animals and watching birds.
He is survived by his wife Karen, daughters Tracy (Plover), Kari (Joaquin) and granddaughter Violet (Wisconsin Rapids), sister Jean Hall and brother Tom (Patty) of Wausau, and cats Meiko and Midnight.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin sisters Sarah and Mary and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Wood County Humane Society, St. Luke's Lutheran Church, or the Wounded Warriors Project.
