Age 63 years old, passed on Thursday, December 4, 2025. He was born on July 16, 1962 in Olean, NY to the late Laurence D. Hanks and Kathleen L. Senyk. Gary is survived by his two sons, Matthew and Cole Hanks. Also surviving are his sisters, Kelly (Robert) Williams, Robin Monahan Mackey, a brother, James Monahan; and his step-mother, Jean Magee Crowley, whom he loved dearly. He has several surviving nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his beloved step-father, Merle Monahan; his older brother, Allen Gross; and a sister, Sandra Stives. Gary was a lifetime sports fan and always there for the Buffalo Bills and the Sabres. He worked for years restoring cars, doing the bodywork on them. He eventually worked for Otis Elevators and retired from there last year. A memorial service will be held this spring at Emery Park, the date to be announced.
