Gary Franklin Harper

Funeral services for Mr. Gary Franklin Harper will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Shiloh Baptist Church, DeRidder, with Delbert Isbell officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery, DeRidder, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mr. Harper, 76, of DeRidder, entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Christus St. Patrick Hospital, Lake Charles, LA

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed a peaceful retirement and treasured time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Della Harper; two brothers, J.G. Harper and Arthur Harper; one sister, Pauline Howel; and one grandson, Tyler East.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-five years, Barbara Harper of DeRidder; three sons, Gary Lee Harper of Arkansas, Wesley Harper (Sherrie) of Mannford, Oklahoma, and Mitchell Lee Harper of Bunkie; one daughter, Melissa Harper of Pineville; two sisters, Joyce Williamson of Lake Charles, and Barbara Harper of Lake Charles; two grandsons, Austin Stringer and Hunter Harper; three granddaughters, Madilyn East, Kylie Harper, and Kennedy Harper; and one great grandson, Tatum Bemont.
