Gary M. "Herc" Hollenbach, 76, of Houston, died peacefully, Sunday, June 27, 2021, in his home, with his family by his side.
He was born July 20, 1944, in Houston, a son of Herman and Delma "Cotty" Hollenbach.
Mr. Hollenbach was a 1963 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School.
Gary had worked at the U.S. Steel Corporation's Clairton Works for 33 years, retiring in 2006.
He was a member of the Gospel Way Church in Canonsburg.
Mr. Hollenbach enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling, including the many times they visited Disney World in Orlando.
On June 22, 1968, he married Barbara Durbin, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gary M. Hollenbach Jr. (Yvonne) of Imperial; two daughters, Renee L. McClelland (Harold Jr.) of McDonald and Melissa Ann Hollenbach of Houston; two grandchildren, Jacob Hollenbach and Adam McClelland; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased are four sisters, Virginia "Gina" Barringer, Dorothy "Doe" Telesko, Delma "Bunny" O'Donnell and Sheila Kosem; and two brothers, Jacob "Buck" Hollenbach and Peter Hollenbach, who died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 2. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.

Barbara and Fanily
My deepest sympathy to you all. Barb, thank you for being there for my cousin. I will have fond memories of Gary while we were growing up. He was the closest thing to a "brother"a cousin could want. He is loved and will be missed by all.
