Gary Lee Honeycutt passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday March 2, 2025, at the age of 79.
Gary was born in Temple, TX on October 27, 1945, to the late Roselle Lee and E.K. Honeycutt of Temple, TX. He attended Temple ISD schools where he played football and graduated from Temple high school in 1964.
Gary worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a conductor from 1970 until 2005 when he retired after 36 years. He enjoyed a rich and varied life of fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Gary earned many awards for his hobbies including the title of Texas Senior Clays Champion, Tyler Senior Golf Tournament Champion and Temple Senior Golf Tournament Champion.
Gary is survived by his older brother Tommy Honeycutt and wife Susan; his children Keith Honeycutt and Rebecca Milligan; his grandchildren Grayson Honeycutt and wife Reagan, Catherine and husband Joshua Hazlewood, Grant Milligan; and great grandson Easton Honeycutt.
Gary’s Celebration of life will be hosted at Dossman Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 12th at 11 am in Belton, TX.
