Gary Austin Jenkins was born January 13, 1956, to Ruby J. Dyson and Clyde Torns of Jackson, Mississippi.
Gary began his early life being raised by great grandparents, Henry and Elnora Jenkins and grandmother, Josie B. Sampson. Later, he attended C. L. Harper High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Gary's favorite pastime was eating. Collard Greens were always on the menu when cooking for himself. Gary also loved Cadillac cars. It didn't matter what model or year so long as it was a Cadillac. He was happy. On July 25, 2021, Gary dedicated his life to serve Jehovah the most-high God. He studied the bible with his nephew Brandon despite many physical challenges along the way. Though being non-verbal, he enjoyed commenting at his meetings regularly by means of an audio tablet. Gary fell asleep in death on August 8, 2024.
He will be sorely missed by those who loved him. Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Barbara C. Jenkins, his father, Mr. Clyde Torns, his sons, Antwon and Donte' Jenkins. He leaves to mourn four children, Ms. Tuesday A. Caldwell, Ms. Terri Jenkins, Mr. Gary Jenkins, Jr., and Ms. Tamara Jenkins. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ruby J. Dyson, siblings, Ms. Linda F. Dyson and Mr. Gregory S. Dyson (Linda), fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends
