Gary Jones

At Westminster, the difficulties of academic rigor can be often felt, most especially during the 6th-8th grade Junior High School years. Gary Jones made every young person he taught feel included, valued, and loved, and as my homeroom teacher each morning in the Eighth grade It was humbling and assuring to feel valued and connect with a benevolent soul who cared so much for people, his students and all of us loved ones.

Coach Jones most notably is a gentle, heartfelt, kind, caring and strengthening human soul who spread his strengths and kindness to all of his students, and Coach was admired and adored at Westminster, most especially from the day he began teaching on campus around 2002, and 22 full years later. We are eternally grateful to have known Coach Gary Jones as a person, a mentor, a coach, and an extremely intelligent physics teacher who shaped all of us to become who we are today. God spoke through Coach in many ways, and Coach used his strong ability to teach, connect, smile, and discipline us (in the most kind and honorable fashion, to teach each of us very important lessons as young people growing up in an uncertain world) and God graced Coach Jones with an incredible sense of humble wisdom that cannot and will never be forgotten by those he taught.

Please look over us in Heaven, Coach. We still need you and will miss you forever.
