Gary McClung Obituary

Gary Keaton McClung 69, of Canton, GA passed away on June 5, 2025.

Gary was born to Raymond and Dorothy McClung on October 17, 1955. Gary was born and raised in Charleston, WV and graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1973. He later graduated from WV State College with a degree in Banking/Accounting. He went on to graduate from LSU Graduate School of Banking, as well as, passing the Certified Public Accountant Exam. Gary began his banking career in the mailroom at the age of seventeen and worked up through various departments in various banks in West Virginia and Georgia. He eventually became a Bank Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and ended his career as the Bank President/CEO of a local bank in Duluth, GA. His hobbies included playing pool, golf and riding his motorcycle to name a few. Anyone who had the privilege of being Gary's friend knew him to be kind, generous and a helpful man. All who knew him will miss his smile, laugh, and sharp wit.

Left to treasure his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Janet, his beloved son, Kevin (Janna), and his precious granddaughter, Cailyn. He is also survived by his three sisters, Donna (Robert) Burnside, Barbara (Dale) Slack, and Pam (Jimmy) Beheler. In addition, his maternal aunt, Mary Pritt plus numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution to The Parkinson's Foundation in Gary's name would be appreciated.
