Gary Winfred McComas

Gary W. McComas peacefully exhaled his last breath here on earth and inhaled his next breath in the splendor of Heaven on Saturday, Nov 26, 2022 at UNC Rex, Raleigh, NC. Gary was born in West Hamlin WV to the late Alfred and Gladys McComas on December 21, 1940. He served in the US Marines, followed by US Marine Reserves over 20 years. He officially retired as a Sargent from the Detroit Police Department in 1989. Gary loved his God, and family. He thoroughly enjoyed singing in the church choir. He was an avid golfer and played with many golf buddies around the country. He enjoyed watching U of MI, and U of FL football along with many professional football and baseball teams. He is survived by his wife Colleen Shasteen McComas: three children Gary Jr (Wixom, Mi) Ruth Sullivan (Milford, MI ), Mike ( Westland MI), Stepsons Jeremy Glasstetter (Swartz Creek), Mark Glasstetter (Clearwater FL) as well as 10 grandchildren and 2 great-children. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his first wife Sharon McComas in 1995. Gary will be returned to Michigan by arrangements of Brown-Wynne Funeral.Home, Cary, NC to Wujek Calcaterra Funeral Home in Sterling Heights, MI.
