Gary Patrick McGarvey, age 62, from Linn Creek, Missouri, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 27, 2025, after a year long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Dayton, OH on September 13, 1963 to the late James F. McGarvey and Joyce A. (Fenton) McGarvey.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Vicki (Ewers) McGarvey; three daughters Lynsay North (McGarvey), Alicia Burtin, and Macy Blume (Burtin); Grampy to 4 grandchildren Braxton North, Piper, Cohen, and Walker Blume; three sisters Gayle McGarvey, Jill McGarvey, and Joy Scott (Scotty) ; a brother Jim McGarvey (Anna); mother-in-law Patsy Ewers; two sisters-in-law Debbie Libbert and Darlene Waggoner; four brothers-in-law Johnny, Jerry, Bobby and Jimmy Ewers; several nieces and nephews and host of family and friends; and his truly loved rescued hound-mix dog Dixie, that he would tease his daughters that she was his "favorite" daughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Zachary McGarvey; brothers-in-law Theo Verules and Randy Libbert; one nephew Nicky Libbert; and father-in-law John C. Ewers.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
