Gary Walter Moore, 69, of Pequot Lakes, entered into the Heavenly Kingdom on December 17, 2024. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in the Nisswa area.
Gary was born on May 13, 1955, to Jerome and Marcella (Morgan) Moore in Fargo, North Dakota. He graduated from York High school in Elmhurst, Illinois. He received his BA from the University of Illinois in Business Administration. His career started in the Chicago Area working in the pollution abatement field, concentrating in fossil fuels. He eventually started a company providing products and services to the coal industry.
In 1978 Gary was introduced to Stephanie through mutual friends. They were then married on August 30, 1980, in Stephanie’s hometown of Shelby, OH. They made their first home in Glen Ellyn, Illinois where they were blessed with 5 children. Gary’s career eventually moved them to Evergreen, Colorado, where their children finished their high school years.
He most enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his family, focusing on fishing and hunting, which was taught to him by his grandfather Moore. Later on, throughout the years he passed on that love to his family. One of his greatest pleasures was watching his children and grandchildren catch fish. Above all else, Gary was a family man. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, his family was his number one priority. The grandchildren’s presence always lit up his life, and whenever family was around, his smile would never fade. A man of great sacrifice and generosity, he poured his heart into his family. His love and presence were felt by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and everyone whose life he touched.
Gary is survived by his loving wife Stephanie; children, Michael (Missy Rae) Moore, Eric (Heather) Moore, Brittany (Brian) Petersen, Bradley (Missy Ann) Moore, Emma Nelson; grandchildren, Zadek Moore, Marcella Moore, Ember Lacefield, Archer Moore, Kaidric Petersen, Sawyer Petersen, Harlyn Moore, Nora Moore, Josie Moore, Blake Nelson, Barrick Nelson, Gary Nelson; siblings, Terri Pedersen and Michael Moore. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Marcella; and son-in-law Chad Nelson.
