He was preceded in death by his parents Claris and Lillie, his son Dan, brother Curt, nephew Joel, and many beloved grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Peggy, children: Lisa Hughes (Kirk), Kristy Callies (Larry Forseth), daughter-in-law Sami Rice (Eric), grandchildren: Joshua (Lauren), Michael, Jon, Kaitlyn, Emily, Dane, Caleb (Jenna), Abby, James, Miranda, Abraham, and Luke. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Gary was a man of deep Christian faith. He was generous and kind, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement.
As we celebrate Gary's life and mourn his passing, we take solace in knowing that he is now at peace, free from the confines of earthly struggles, and rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Gary's life was a testament to the hope and strength found in Christ, and his legacy will be remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Ramsey Fire Station 1, 15050 Armstrong Blvd, Ramsey, MN 55303.
