Gary Lee Patterson

Gary Lee Patterson, age 56, of Shelby, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014, at his residence. A native of Cleveland County he is the son of Roscoe Charles Patterson and Jermine Melton Patterson. He was an avid bicyclist and also enjoyed fishing. He had worked at Patterson Surplus for many years, PPG, and Timken of Lincolnton. He was a member of Putnam Memorial Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Hattie Melton and Fennel and Mattie Patterson. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Darla Patterson of the home; daughter, Chelsea Patterson of Shelby; son, Charlie Patterson of the home; three sisters, Wanda Bridges and husband Max of Ellenboro, Connie Young and husband Bill of Lexington, KY, and Kathy Forbes and husband Jim of Shelby; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Cleveland County, TACC, Life Enrichment Center, and Putnam Memorial Baptist Church.
