Gary R. Rush, age 81, of Akron, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 5, 2025, with his family by his side.
Gary was born June 10, 1944, in Akron, OH. A hardworking man, Gary was a police officer for the City of Akron until 1981. He moved to California and became a dispatcher in San Bernadino and Santa Rosa. He then went on to work as a security guard for Brinks until he retired in 2006. Gary will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jeannette Surbeck and William Butler, and his beloved wife, Maunnine “Mickie” Rush.
Gary is survived by his cherished daughters, Sheri-Lynn (John) Boggs, Amy (Bill) Habeck, Megan (Jonathan) Sutera, and Diana (Allan) Onderick; fourteen treasured grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will take place.
