Gary Schoner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Krause Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Inc. - Capitol Drive on Apr. 16, 2025.
Gary Robert Schoner, born on November 23, 1953, in Uniontown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at the age of 71. Gary spent much of his childhood in New England, where his curiosity for how things worked first took root. He graduated from Framingham South High School before heading west to attend the University of Denver, where he studied mechanical engineering and business. That journey eventually led Gary to Milwaukee, a city he made his home. There, he worked for many years as a mechanical engineer before launching and running his own successful business. His work was not only a source of pride but a reflection of his quiet determination and knack for solving problems with both care and creativity.
A true lover of the outdoors, Gary found solace and joy in nature, especially near the water. Whether casting a line at sunrise or trolling along Lake Michigan, Gary felt most at home surrounded by nature. Hunting and fishing weren't just pastimes for Gary-they were lifelong passions, deeply rooted in respect for the land and the lessons it offered.
Gary had a special gift for passing those passions on to others. He is survived by his children, Robert Schoner (Jessica) and Danielle Mann (Nick), as well as three beloved grandchildren-Beau, Milo, and Drew-through whom his deep well of knowledge proudly lives on. He is also survived by his sister, Judi (the late Harold), and his nephew Scott (Andrea), with whom he shared a close and enduring bond.
Gathering at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive Milwaukee, on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 4:00 PM – 5:45 PM. Memorial Service at 6:00 PM.
