Gary, age 52, passed away on December 24, 2025. He was born on April 9, 1973, in Anchorage, Alaska, proudly carrying the legacy name of his late uncle, Gary.
Gary met his lifelong friend and love, Kelly, in high school while living in Alaska. Years later, they reunited in Utah and were married in 1995, sharing 30 beautiful years of marriage.
In 1999, they welcomed their precious daughter, Autumn, who was truly his whole world.
Gary was a man of many skills, but carpentry shaped much of his life. With his own hands, he built his family's first home, as well as many homes throughout their neighborhood and in Davis County.
Spending time with his family and being outdoors were Gary's greatest passions. Camping was his favorite, and Utah offered many beautiful places where he made lasting memories with those he loved.
In 2012, Gary and his family moved to Montana, which felt like a home away from Alaska. There, he continued his love of camping and spent countless evenings soaking in Montana's unforgettable sunsets.
Gary cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Marigold and Dayne, and with the son he never had, his son-in-law, Noah. Being with his family was always his favorite place to be.
To know Gary was to love him. He had a tender heart and a way of making everyone feel seen. He loved deeply and wholeheartedly, welcoming so many as family and willing to move mountains for those he cared about.
Gary is reunited in heaven with his brother, Monte, and his uncle, Gary, as well as many other loved ones who have gone before him.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 5th, at Dahl Funeral & Cremation Service, followed by burial at Meadowview Cemetery. After the burial, there is a celebration of life at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites by IGH, 309 W. Madison Ave., Belgrade. In lieu of flowers, a tree may be planted in his memory.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving husband, father, proud Peepaw, brother, son, uncle, and friend.
A true friend!
